Fold (4-fold, 5-fold)
British shorthand for the number of selections in an accumulator: a 5-fold is a five-leg parlay, and every leg must win. The American term is simply a parlay — a “5 fold” bet and a five-team parlay are the same wager under two names.
The odds multiply, and so does the book's margin. Five legs at −110 each pay about +2,436, against roughly +3,100 if the book took nothing — the vig compounds once per leg, which is why accumulators sit among the most expensive bets on the board.
Related British constructions build on the same idea: a Trixie, Yankee, Lucky 15 or Lucky 31 combine the same selections into every possible double, treble and fourfold at once, so a single “bet” is really many bets stacked together and staked accordingly.
